I’m starting to take violin lessons soon, and I was wondering what knowledge would be useful to know before I go to my fist one.

I already know basic musical theory etc… As I played trombone for six years.

My I have considered starting her in violin lessons she is the there is a lady in town who has experience something like fifteen years and teachers from her home would you think it would be cheaper since she teaches from her home instead of a building

A three-year-old is too young to start learning the violin. At that age she should be playing and learning very basic stuff – push her now and she may never want to learn. Leave it until she’s at least 6 – my dad was a violin teacher and he always reckoned that that was a good age to start.
In the meantime, let her listen to lots of music – classical, pop, musicals, folk – everything. Then, when she’s old enough she’ll already love music and want to learn.
But to answer your question – a private teacher can charge anything she likes. Whether or not you pay it is your decision.

I don’t have any basic knowledge about playing violin. What should I start with? Please tell me.

There are free lessons but no effective lessons. If you don’t have any knowledge at all about violin it’s an extremely bad idea to try to learn from an online tutorial. It’s not so bad for someone with a solid musical background who already knows one stringed instrument, but not for a complete beginner.

Violin is simply not a self-teaching instrument.

Does anyone know of any sites or places online that can offer FREE lessons on how to play the violin/fiddle. i dotn want sign ups or anything just want free places, turtorials, lessons, tips. ect thanks

The only free way to learn the violin, provided you already own a violin. Is by learning through the Suzuki method textbooks. You can either torrent this, or purchase it somewhere. I would only recommend learning violin yourself if you are already an experienced musician.

I’ve tried searching for a personal violin teacher, but I cannot find one. Ive looked on the internet but i guess since we live in a small town and such there arent many teachers. Can I learn how to play the violin by going on youtube and looking at videos? Is it possible to be self-taught violinist? Do you have a website that’ll help me search for a teacher maybe? thank you

Go ahead. I mean it wont hurt to try ik things like that are tough because you don’t no were to go so go ahead, see if you can learn off of vidoes and such. But i warn you its REALLY hard and you have to put work/effort into this and you wont get this by day or night. Who knows you might be the next great, worldwide violinist though

I’m 15 and I want to start playing Violin. I know it would be very beneficial to have a teacher but neither me nor my parents have the money for it. Would I form to many bad habits if I was to use the internet and books to learn violin for a year or two?

1) Learn violin with a teacher

or

2) Don’t take up violin at all

Since I was young I always wanted to learn to play violin but never had the chance. I am 40 years old now and still wanting to learn that. Is possible? Of course I know I will never be a virtuoso, I only want to play my favorite pieces at home.

Although the absolute ideal and recommended age for learning the violin is 3-6 years old, practically anyone can begin learning at any age as long as the will and passion for it is there. These articles may give you some inspiration:

I’ve never had any music experiences before, I don’t even know how to read notes. But I’ve always wanted to learn the violin. I’m taking a violin lesson now but I can only go for 6 months as I have to go back to my home country (currently living somewhere else). So, how much can I learn then?

You can learn a lot of the first position notes and several simple tunes in that time.
